The School of Information at the University of California, Berkeley
welcomes applications for multiple postdoctoral scholars to help build and
be an integral part of our new web-based Master of Information and Data
Science program (datascience.berkeley.edu).

The position will include research collaboration, teaching sections in our
online Master’s program, and participation in the intellectual community at
the School of Information and on the Berkeley campus.

The Data Science postdoc will have research and teaching experience in at
least one of the following core areas:

• Research design and data analysis
• Exploring and analyzing data (Applied statistics)
• Storing and retrieving data (Databases)
• Visualizing and communicating data
• Applied machine learning
• Privacy, security, and ethics of data
• Experiments and experimentation with data
• Very large scale data mining and analysis

The minimum qualification required to be considered an applicant for the
position is a Ph.D. or the completion of all degree requirements except the
dissertation. A Ph.D. or equivalent is required by the date of hire.
