FRONT PAGE - THE ISIS WAR, WILD US COPS, EBOLA ALMOST OUT OF CONTROL &
HONG KONG PROTESTS CONTINUE

Intelligence, Secrecy & Power, N. 645, 13 October 2014
WORLD MEDIA - FROM 13 SEPTEMBER 2014 TO 10 OCTOBER 2014 2014 REPORTS & SYNTHESIS
The war against ISIS remains near the top of ISP topics and has gone
up in number of reports (now number one and prevoiusly number two).
Reports concerning US cops have gone up in numbers and also for
noteworthy articles (this issue's the hightest number at 8*), and was
previously number one and is now the number two topic in total
numbers. The two new major topics are the Ebola epidemic (in Africa,
the US and Europe), and the continuing Hong Kong protests. Both topics
are developing rapidly right now and should be watched. Middle level
simmering conflicts such as Israel/Palestine, Ukraine/Russia,
Nigeria/Boko Haram and Pakistan/Afghanistan continue to simmer and
don't seem to be changing relative position or number of noteworthy
articles. However, Israel is clearly loosing the last of its remaining
"sympathy capital" as the US gives its one of its first major rebukes
and major European countries recognize the state of Palestine.
This issue of "Intelligence, Secrecy & Power" (ISP), number 644,
covers from 13 September to 10 October 2014 and includes 44 pages of
data, in 491 entries or 24,145 words, and 32* noteworthy entries
marked *. This ISP format provides information by topic and then by
chronological listing of the media reports. In this issue, as with
preceding issues, Israel/Palestine, but neither Syria nor Iraq,
appears as a separate topic, independent of the general Middle East
topic, as distinct from certain past issues. As such these different
topics are not strictly comparable with the preceding issues of ISP
where these topics may be separate. The numbers for this issue's
