PhD Position in Digital Government
The University of Lausanne is a research and higher education institution
composed of seven faculties, here approximately 15,000 students and nearly
5,000 professors, researchers and staff work and study. Ideally situated
along the lake of Geneva, near Lausanne city center, its campus brings
together over 120 nationalities.
At the Institut de hautes études en administration publique (Swiss Graduate
School of Public Administration) of the Faculty of Law, Criminal Justice
and Public Administration, in the University of Lausanne an
*assistant/Ph.D.**position* (80%) will have to be filled on a date to be
The position is part of the Research Unit “Information Management
headed by Prof. Tobias Mettler. The candidate for this position is expected
to conduct her/his Ph.D. thesis within the field of information management
in the public sector.
Expected start date in position : 01.01.2020 or to be agreed
Contract length : 1 year, renewable 2 x 2 years, maximum 5 years
Activity rate : 80%

Systems, Statistics or Computer Science (preferably with a minor in
Management or Public Administration) and have the following skills :
- Excellent skills in data analysis, statistical methods and programming;
- Knowledge in theory and methods of management science;
- Strong interest in interdisciplinary research and writing of a PhD.

- Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is required. Proficiency
