Birkbeck is recruiting for a new Lecturer in Digital Media Design to support our expanding provision in this area across levels and contribute to our growing and international research profile.
The new Lecturer in Digital Media Design will play a key role in overseeing the development of digital design, web development, and interactive media courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. You will bring a passion for innovative research-led teaching and an ability to synthesise critical, theoretical and practical approaches to teaching digital media design. You will also have a clear and cogent strategy for outstanding research in this emergent sub-discipline. The successful applicant will join a growing team of academics with a strong international research and impact profile.
The successful applicant will hold a PhD or equivalent in a related discipline and a clear research trajectory within the broad fields of digital media design, web development, creative computing, and interactive media. We are also looking for someone with an emergent publication record and experience of higher education teaching. Industry experience in the field of digital design would be an asset.

Remuneration

Lecturer Grade of the College's London Pay Scale which is £ 38,594 rising to £53,342

The salary quoted is on the College's London Pay Scale which includes a consolidated Weighting/Allowance which applies only to staff whose normal contractual place of work is in the London area.
