Dear colleagues,

This is a friendly reminder that the CFP on politics and social media in Latin America from the journal Análisis Político is closing on March 3, 2023.

In this CFP, the journal Análisis Político seeks to gather a series of research articles that evaluate the impact of social media on democratic politics, paying specific attention to the political structure of Latin America and its cultural dimensions. In particular, the CFP seeks, on the one hand, papers that analyze the modifications to the forms of political participation (social movements, protests, political parties, and civil organizations, among others) and the way in which these are related and articulated; on the other hand, it seeks articles that reflect on the way in which social media shapes narratives, emotions, status and, thus, politics.

The journal will privilege papers based on innovative theoretical frameworks, with conceptual proposals articulated with relevant empirical material.

Methodologically, the call for papers is open to qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methodologies, from social experiments to interviews, ethnographies, or computational methods of text or network analysis.

The journal will be receiving papers in English and will be able to translate them to Spanish on a case-by-case assessment.

The journal invites anyone interested in the topic and the region to apply. We look forward to receiving your papers!

Please do not hesitate to send me an email if you have any questions, and please share broadly among those who might be interested.
