POSITION VACANCY LOUISIANA TECH UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF LIBERAL ARTS SCHOOL OF HISTORY AND SOCIAL SCIENCES POSITION: Assistant Professor of Sociology. Tenure track, nine-month position. Review of applications begins December 1, 2023, and will continue until the position is filled. Starting date: September 1, 2024. QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. in Sociology (or related field) by September 1, 2024. RESPONSIBILITIES: We welcome applicants whose research and teaching lies at the intersection of identity, technology, and communications (e.g. digital/social media; social networks; health communications; or digital criminology). The successful candidate will join a vibrant academic unit that prioritizes interdisciplinary teaching and research collaboration between the humanities and social sciences. The candidate will have the opportunity to teach courses in her/his areas of specialization and interest within Sociology, as well as research methods. In addition, the ability to contribute to a new interdisciplinary graduate program focusing on media studies and technology is highly desired. The normal teaching load is three courses per quarter.
