Hi everyone,

I would like to invite interested students to an information session about
our Ph.D. program at the Department of Communication at UMass Amherst.

We expect to admit seven students with full funding for Fall 2024, and the
application deadline is January 2, 2024
. The information session will be
over Zoom on Friday, November 3, 2023 from 10 AM to 11 AM (EST).
Please register
for the meeting at this link
https://umass-amherst.zoom.us/meeting/register/tJArd-ugqj4uE9NOBqOtJYOHqF7F6O6SMxyG#/registration,
and
feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

The Graduate Program Director, members of the Graduate Admissions
Committee, a current graduate student, and a recent Ph.D. alumnus will talk
about the program and admissions process
for about 40 minutes. Following the presentations, participants will have
the chance to ask questions. The initial 40-minute presentation will be
recorded and available on our website after the meeting.

The University of Massachusetts-Amherst is an R1 (research-intensive)
University, and the Department of Communication
https://www.umass.edu/communication/ has an excellent record of placing
PhD graduates in academic positions. Our research and teaching areas
include media, technology, and culture; critical cultural studies; film
studies; performance studies; and language and social interaction. Across
these areas, we have particular strength in international and comparative
perspectives and in
social justice orientations.

All the best,
Burcu
